Paris
Day 8
Had our last basket breakfast. We are going to miss that event in Italy. Decided to hop on the metro and go to E. Dehillerin where both Julia Child and Ina Garten bought a lot of cooking supplies. They are stacked floor to ceiling with all kinds of kitchen “things”. Navigating down the aisles I felt Julia saying to me (in her high pitched voice) “buy this Bob”, or “you need this Bob”. I knew I was going to buy something and it could not be too heavy or too big so I decided on a couple of knives. I wanted this cooking pan and pot but both weighed at least 5 lbs. each. We could have shipped them home but decided to wait until next time we are in Paris.
We stopped at an outside bistro for lunch. Wine, good food and people watching. Then took the metro home to start packing etc.
We went, around the corner, to Les Biche aux Bois for dinner. This was our second visit there. OMG! How does one place serve such great food? I had the coq au vin again and Dow had the roast veal stew. Side of French fries on the house! We had 4 courses (entrée (app), plat (main course), fromage (cheese plate) and dessert in over 2 hours. We are starting to eat like the French. Usually we never order dessert, but in France they look so good. And it's our last dinner here, until next trip! C'est la vie!
