Wonderful French breakfast.
Decided to go to the Eiffel Tower. Walked to the Metro and took M1 yellow line to Charles de Gaule - Ètolile stop. Switched to the metro green 6 line and exited at Bir-Hakeim. Walked about 10 minutes to the tower. It was about a 40 minute trip including the walking.
The Eiffel Tower always excites you. Even though it was chilly we decided to go to the first viewing level (15-20 minutes wait in line for tickets). It was windy, cloudy and cold. Took some pictures of the awesome view. I failed to drop my iphone – a good thing but the wind could have made it possible. Walking around you hear so many different languages. Truly international! The Eiffel Tower is the most visited monument with an entrance fee in the world. And the world is here today on a chilly windy day.
Back at home we had some pâté en croûte and a pâté. We are going to miss the French pâté and the French baguette. You can buy both at home but it is not the same.
A lot of restaurants are closed on Sunday but, we knew Bofinger would be open and had made a reservation when we first arrived in Paris. The meal was great. Dow had Bofinger's vol-au-vent-sweetbreads and I had flambéed veal kidneys with Cognac . Both were so tender and we agreed it was the best sweetbreads and kidneys we have ever eaten.
Tuesday morning we leave for the airport at 8:00am.
