Diciannove settembre sabato ( September 19 Saturday)
Walked around the city to check out some shops as we needed some apartment supplies. The city was packed. Where did they come from? Not tourists on weekends, mostly locals. On our walk we came across a car rally down the "main" street. Crazy, just crazy. Abbiamo mangiato il pranzo alla Osteria Vispa Teresa (We ate lunch at Osteria Vispa Teresa). This is our second time here as we enjoy this very small local osteria (click here for explanation of osteria). The food was outstanding. There is an expession for these types of eating places - you eat with your stomach and not your eyes.
While walking the streets later we came across a fashion show. One of the shops was putting on the show. The girls are stunning but, look at the people who were just walking by and saw them. Great expressions.
Later in the afternoon we went to an event that raises money for a local charity. Volunteers make different kinds of bread and you donate some money for the bread. They also had polenta, focaccia, and pizza. The ovens can not get hot enough to make thin crust pizza. Pizza was ok but, the polenta was to die for.
Snacks on the patio with our purchased bread & pizza.
