Italy 2017

Buongiorno,

Un'altra bella giornata. (Another beautiful day).  I love this broken record. Two more days and we began packing yesterday. I am organized because of Dow.

Ci siamo alzati presto per finire il blog e abbiamo camminato le mura. (We got up early to finish blog and walked the wall.) Wanted to get to lunch before the crowds move into the city.

Siamo andati al Osteria da Rosolo. (We went to Osteria da Rosolo). We arrived at noon when they opened and our waiter (who remembered us gave us our same table. About an hour later there was a line to get in. Most of them had Stones T-shirts. They weren't just lined up for any food they wanted this restaurant. This osteria is hard to find because it is in an alley. The foodies know where to go.

We both had the seafood salad. Lots of fish- shrimp, calamari, and octopus. Both of us ordering the same thing does not happen very often. Dressing was nice and light with a lemon flavor, which complemented the fish. For the second course Dow had pappardelle with wild boar and I had the baccalà. The dishes had a simple presentation but the flavors were amazing. The depth of flavor in the sauces, we believe, is what separates this restaurant from most others.

In the afternoon we walked around and saw crowds everywhere and most people were wearing a Rolling Stones t-shirts. Watched the people for a while but quickly became lame.  After a snack at home (hearing Stones music from somewhere) we went out for another short walk about 7.  Most of the crowds were gone – concert starts at 9:30!
