Italy 2017

Buongiorno,

Walked the wall to see what damage was done last night. Not too bad and then……Vediamo gli ombrelli  (We see the umbrellas)  Il sole è andato via, che peccato! (The sun is gone, what a shame!). They were already taking down the stage and seating from the concert.

Cleaning up after an event reminds me of tailgating. In Europe there are no tailgates. First of all no place to park together, and next it is not their tradition. In fact there is no Italian word for tailgating. Our Italian teacher, Teresa, supplied this information.

Abbiamo fatto una tappa alla Bottega di Anna & Leo per il pranzo. (We stopped at  Bottega di  Anna & Leo for lunch.) We have been here before. Dow had Maccheroni with ricotta, spinach and meat and I had Garmugia Lucchese Zuppa (Lucchese Soup). The second course Dow had wild boar stew with olives and I had lasagna di nonna (Granny's Lasagna). We did have il dolce and it was their famous Lucchese dolce. Three different pieces of pies – wow!

Working on downloading the boarding passes and after some roadblocks – got it.

Driver picking us up at tomorrow at 6:30 am for the airport.

Siamo andati a un concerto la Polifonica Lucchese ieri sera (we went to a concert the Polifonica Lucchese last evening)
