Paris

Day 4

Breakfast was waiting at our door. There is a different fruit or flower everyday. Off for today's adventure. Used the metro (very clean and easy to use) then walked to find the Invalides to see the Army museum but walked in the wrong direction so we decided to go to the Musee d'Orsay. Finally found it – closed on Monday (had not looked it up as we planned to go later in the week). So headed to Invalides. Whew – huge, huge museum – very interesting. Many steps. Every bit of war history from medieval times to WWII. Amazing! Also there was Napoleon's tomb. Found our way back to the metro and home for a well-deserved happy hour. Over 17,000 steps and over 8 miles of walking.

Out for dinner at another French Bistro that we have never visited. My French onion soup was the best – just love these bistros. Found out about the tragic fire at Notre Dame via e-mails from home.  Very sad – for Paris and for the Christian world.  It's not far from us, we visited it last year, and will walk over today to view and pay respects. Thankfully some of it was saved by over 500 firefighters.
