Day 6

Breakfast at our door and weather today is getting up to the 60's. YES! Decided to walk to the Père Lachaise cemetery where famous celebrities are eternally resting. About a 30-minute walk from our place and the mystery is finding the sites. More like a small city, the cemetery is big and confusing. Along came one of those freelance guides  - he heard us say, “Chopin” and he said, “follow me”. Long story short he became our personal guide. He is a master at finding famous people by short cuts throughout the 110 acres and loved history so you know Dow and he connected quickly. Famous people stay there forever while others are moved after so many years if they do not pay the annual fee and someone else buys the plot.  We saw many, but not all, of the celebrities buried there – so many!

Stopped for a brief rest and an afternoon drink on an outside café. Needed that after we walked over 14,000 steps or 6.5 miles

Dinner was at our favorite restaurant, a 4 course meal – app, main, cheese and dessert for 34€ each. Great deal. Dow had the coq au vin and I had the veal tenderloin. Both outstanding!!!!
