Primo e Secondo Giorno
Oggi iniziamo il nostro viaggio. (Today we start our journey.)
We had our traditional Bloody Mary at the airport.
Fa bel tempo oggi. (Good weather today.) The first flight to Atlanta was smooth and just over an hour.
The Delta app on our phone not only has our boarding passes but, tracks our luggage, gives us gate information and provides a map to the next gate in real time. Impressive! I highly recommend using the Fly Delta app when flying Delta. We also use Apple air tags which we put in our luggage to track them on our phone
Siamo andati al Delta Sky Club in Atlanta. (We went to the Delta Sky Club in Atlanta). Il cibo è stato molto buono. (The food was very good.) So was the prosecco.
Flight to Amsterdam was going well then things started to happen. Dow lost one airpod when the lights were off. We looked all over with our flashlights on our phones, pulled up the seat and could not find it. We waited until they turned the lights on to serve breakfast and the lady behind us found it. Now to relax but Dow spilled a BIG glass of tomato juice on my pants. Last time we order tomato juice on a flight. So, my spare pants are in the checked luggage. I am a mess. Che peccato! (What a shame)
Some good news in Amsterdam. The border police check point went very fast. But finding a charging station in the local flight section is impossable. If you are ever in B concourse in Amsterdam the station is located at B26 and hidden.
Flight from Amsterdam to Lucca was on time. They parked the plane a long way from the Terminal. Took a bus to the Terminal. Poi abbiamo aspettato 45 minuti per i nostri bagagli (Then we waited 45 minutes for our luggage). There were 3 or 4 flights that came in after us also waiting for for their luggage. Crazy situation – patience Bob. Florence has only 2 baggage carousels and they are very small. Gisella picked us up and gave us a ride to the apartment. We gave her a gift made by Dow with (a lot of) help from Deb Winings! Grazie Deb.
