Italy 2024

Got up around 8 which is late for us. Fa bel tempo (beautiful day). A little cool but will jump to the middle 70's.


That music last night just keeps playing in your head – guess because we are in Italy.


We walked the wall and came upon an interesting situation. A photographer taking pictures of a couple. The girl had a wedding dress on and the guy – some guys are clueless how to dress. We think that it was post wedding pictures on the wall.


C'è una Piazza Anfiteatro in Lucca e abbiamo preso il pranzo li- Trattoria L'Angolo Tondo. (There is an amphitheater square in Lucca and we had lunch there - Trattoria L'Angolo Tondo.). This is the first time we have eaten inside the amphitheater.  Always seemed touristy! We tried this restaurant as it was highly rated on Tripadvisor. It did not disappoint.


Per primo, Dow ha preso Tartare di manzo e per secondo Quaglia al forno. ( First Dow had beef tartare and second stuffed quail.) Per primo ho preso Acciughe fritte e secondo Ravioli del plin. ( First I had fried anchovies and second home made plin.)


Dow's stuffed quail was a great. The ravioli del plin was a first. Never heard of plin so looked it up and it means pinch. The ravioli was pinched and in a broth like they serve in Modena, a city we visited a while back. It was good.


The rest of the day was spent relaxing.

stuffed quail with finocchiona, anchovies salad, aubergines, friggittelli and scoppolato sauce
