Giorno Otto
Italy 2024
Fa bel tempo (Beautiful day)
Abbiamo lavorato sul sito web. (We worked on the web site.) Actually, it is fun reminiscing about the previous day. The hard part is deciding what pictures to use.
Later in the morning we walked the wall. A lot of people out walking, running, biking etc. When we exited the wall we found another of the sculptures called “The revolt of the wild world.” A sculpture depicting the uprising of wild animals, led by the bear and the mouflon, following the death of the rare specimen of the Northern Bald Ibis in Tuscany.
Maureen, Carmen and Jill joined us for lunch at Antica Locanda dell'Angelo. I didn't think we could all sit together but, it worked out – barely. (There was a large group of Road Scholar tourists.) Prima volta che siamo stati in questo ristorante. (First time the we have been to this restaurant.) The food was very good - you know the expression – “You cannot have a bad meal in Italy”.
In the afternoon we visited the Church of SAN CRISTOFORO (Saint Christopher). The exhibit there was titled “Lucca and the institutions - 75 years of history images”.
Many very interesting pictures – of historical events in Lucca from the 1950's (black and white – remember those?) to the present day We selected only a few.
At night we went to have a variety of snacks & lots of good wine on the patio of Maureen, Carmen and Jill.
Grazie per il bel momento. (Thank you for a good time.)
