Ciao da Lucca,

It is very hot and will remain hot until we leave. So we are adjusting our schedule. Prima, faremo una passeggiata sulle mura prima (First, we are going to walk the wall.)

In the afternoon we had “to take out the trash”. Lucca separates trash in four categories - 1. Paper 2. Kitchen waste 3. Bottles and plastic 4. Everything else. They have colored bags for each category. Each day there is a different pickup so you leave your bags by the front door. You can also take it to bins, which need an electronic key card to open.

Lazy day as strolled around in the afternoon – nothing really exciting.

La sera siamo andati a Da Pasquale per la cena con Ellen e Charlie.) At night we went to Da Pasquale for dinner with Ellen and Charlie. That is the place at which we made reservations when we arrived in Lucca because every night there is full. Excellent food, but it started to rain at the end of the meal so we had to dash inside. It was just a quick shower so it was OK for us as we were finished but others had just arrived.  Many Europeans start dinner at 8 or 9 PM!
