Il Sole splende! (The sun shines!) Si, il sole. (Yes, the sun)
Back to a regular routine of walking the wall. È stata una buona giornata per fare foto (It was a beautiful day to take pictures.)
We found a tunnel in the wall and followed it for a while. Really interesting as there are tunnels off the main tunnels that have been bricked shut. This must have been a maze in the past.
Had lunch at Antica Osteria. Dow had shrimp, calamari, cabras roe, and toscanini beans first and then lasagna with lamb ragù. I had fresh taglionini pasta with pink prawns, cuttlefish and cabras roe. Then I had pork cheeks slow cooked for 3 hours in a cast iron pan served with creamed potatoes. We were blown away with the quality of the food and unusual dishes. So unusual that we had trouble reading the Italian menu with items that we did not know and had to ask for an English menu (example pork, cheeks, wild mallard, cockerel - that is a first.
Walked later in the afternoon and found another cardboard exhibit titled “Hybris”. Ho comprato la torta di mele. (I bought an apple cake/pie.) We then stopped in Piazza St. Michele for an aperol spritz and “people watched”.
