Piove oggi (Rain today.) Proveremo di camminare sul muro questo pomeriggio.  (We will try and walk the wall this afternoon.) Did some work on the website and then we grabbed a book. Lazy morning and we both enjoyed that.


We decided to go to a restaurant very close by and it is one of the best in Lucca - Osteria Cantina Bernardini. The Osteria is hidden on a side street behind the bell tower. Hint – when you go to Italy try and find the restaurants that are hidden on side streets. They will have the best food. First a complimentary glass of prosecco and an appetizer. Dow had beef tartare with bio egg yolk and next  Fusilli served with kidney veal ragu.I had veal terrine, chicken liver pate and mustard first and for the second course Tripe “Giulio style” with fried polenta. This place has not lost it commitment to great food. We will eat here again because it is so good.


Walked part of the wall in the afternoon and around the streets of the city. I have had some hip flexor pain so home to Aleve.


We went out in the evening to buy tickets for the Puccini Opera Concert tomorrow and to wander the streets. A little snack and white wine on the balcony for a late “happy hour”.
