I am sending day 20 and part of day 21 today as we will not have time tomorrow to work on the website.

We cannot eat or drink anything except water before the COVID test. Not even allowed to brush teeth or use mouthwash. Lucky for Katia, who will drive us part of the way, that we had to have face masks on! Saw that the Steelers were awful. Going to be a long season.

Fa bel tempo con sole. (The weather is nice with sunshine.)

One more full day after today.  ):  

We walked to the wall and Katia picked us up outside the wall. We got to the site for testing and they were about 20 minutes late. Not too bad because we talked to Katia as we were in line. They swabbed both the nose and mouth. It was $70.00€ each. Good deal considering Pittsburgh Airport testing is $100.00 each, or so we have heard.

(Abbiamo camminato alla stazione di autobus per comprare due biglietti per mercoledi alle 8:00. (We walked to the bus station to buy two tickets for Wednesday at 8:00.) We also went shopping for Katia and Andrea as we will be going to their house for dinner tonight.

Great talking to family and getting updates after 2 years. And meeting their son, Niccolo and daughter, Letizia and her boyfriend. We had appetizers, pasta with freshly chopped basil sauce, herb roasted white fish, then dessert. When eating at home with an Italian family you sit down for least 3 hours. Next year we plan to stay in Lucca for the full 3 weeks and take trips from Lucca. Katia and Andrea want us to take some trips with them – how cool is that !!!!!!!!!

We had a brief period of “panic” at night!  I got my test results (yes -negative!) at 7pm on my phone at Katia's.  Dow didn't have her phone…When we got home hers were not on her phone.  Scary for a night but ok - can check in the AM. (Dow had visions of us staying here under quarantine!)

None in the AM!  Oh dear.  What to do? We were planning to walk back to LAMM testing.  I then got on the computer and saw both had been sent to me (hers was a separate pdf file) but hadn't checked last night as we thought hers were on her phone.  Whew!!!  Decided to out for a cappuccino to celebrate. Ci siamo fermati in piazza San Michele per un cappuccino e un brioche per celebrare. (We stopped in piazza San Michele for a cappuccino and a brioche to celebrate.)

Il Sole splende! (The sun is shining!) Si, il sole. (Yes, the sun.) Do not see any rain in the forecast.

Abbiamo camminato le mura. (We walked the wall.) Abbiamo mangiato al La Bottega di Anna & Leo.) (We ate lunch at La Bottega di Anna & Leo.)

We are going to the Puccini Concert tonight.
