Sole, sole e molto sole. (Sun, sun and lots of sun.) Il nostro B&B è molto buono. (our B&B is very good.)

Abbiamo lavorato nel sito web. (We worked on the website.) Then we headed for our tour of the opera house. On the way we saw that Parma was having a marathon throughout the city. A lot of runners had masks around their arms. At the end of the race they were handing out masks. Italy is taking this pandemic very seriously.

We also visited some historical sites. One is the statue commemorating the resistance during WW II (Monumento al Partigiano). We also viewed the Monumento a Giuseppe Verdi.

At 11:00 took a tour of the Teatro Regio di Parma. Our guide was great and we were the only ones for English as all others had an Italian guide. The opera house is beautiful as you would expect and holds 1,800 people. It has 4 tiers of boxes topped by a gallery. When we went into a box we could not talk and could not take pictures with a flash because they were practicing for the opening of the Verdi Festival. That is why some of our pictures are not sharp.

We had lunch at La Filoma which the owner of the B&B recommended. We made reservations and the restaurant was packed. We sat outside and service was very slow but, we were watching the people walk by and our afternoon was free. The food was excellent. It was a 2 ½  hour lunch (for the first hour we had to nurse a bottle of water!) but the waitress apologized (she did not speak English) and was concerned. When we went to pay the owner offered us a limoncello and we had a conversation with him mostly in Italian for about 20 minutes. That made our meal!

Dow decided to look online for a parmigiano tour and found one that we will meet by the train station. More about that tomorrow.

Strolled around later in the afternoon.
