Fa bel tempo. Non troppo caldo e il sole splende.  (Good weather. Not too hot and the sun is shining)


Good morning to work on website and then took a walk to see an  art exhibit in a church nearby. Gone, the last day of the exhibit was yesterday - che perccato! (what a shame). We've viewed exhibits in this church in the past and they have been excellent.  Walk by it almost daily, but waited too long!


To the wall and a walk. We have seen the garden of Palazzo Pfanner from the wall but, never went in. Now is the time. After our walk and lunch we entered this baroque garden laid out in the heart of medieval Lucca. Just beautiful with flowers, greenery, statues and a fountain. There are seats for relaxing and enjoying  the grounds and that is what we did. So peaceful! Inside the walls of the city there is lots of activity,  but, here there is peace and quiet.


Dinner at Osteria Da Pasquale -  we went early so we could talk with him before the rush. It is always full and  they have to  turn people without reservations away. We have been coming here for ten years, always having the best meals. No different tonight. We both had the tuna tartare for the first course. Dow had veal for her second and I had the rabbit. Off the charts !!!!!!! I always stop and tell the kitchen workers what a great meal – most of them do not speak English so my Italian better be understandable. Pasquale commented -  “your Italian is really good”. Needless to say I was on cloud 9 from the wine and his comment.
