Fa bel tempo. (Nice weather.)

No plans today to visit any exhibits, churches or museums.  Been there done that.  We're on vacation from schedules today and yesterday too!  We are “residents” not tourists!!! Relaxing again today, busy schedules ahead - tomorrow (Saturday) and Sunday.

Abbiamo incontrato Katia alla Piazza San Michele per caffè. ( We met Katia at the Piazza San Michele for coffee.) Because of having an appointment inside the walls she was able to meet us.  She updated us on the health of Andrea's father. Does not sound promising. We will probably not see Andrea until next year. We wish his father well.

Abbiamo preparato due panini nell'appartamento poi abbiamo mangiato sulle mura. (We made two sandwiches at the apartment then ate on the walls. Very relaxing!

Walked around and had a spritz at Turandot in Piazza San Michele. They have WiFi there so we are connected.  Fun sitting there and “people watching”. We strolled around the city and came across an event of many vendors selling all kinds of chocolate and after dinner drinks. I have been searching for licorice liquor since I found it in Sorrento in 2012 and Modena in 2017. OGGI L'HO TROVATO.  (TODAY I FOUND IT.) This is group that travels from city to city and we were lucky enough to catch them. Bringing 2 bottles home.

In the evening we went out for a pizza and we brought the leftovers ( the Italian call it “take away”') home for lunch tomorrow. As you might know the Italians do not drown the pizza in toppings.  The Italian pizza crust is very tasty and thin. As our friend, Tony & his dad, would say “it is all about the crust and fresh ingredients”. Italy has both! We support the traditional way in the pizza world.

La pizza qui è saporita e semplice come da  tradizione. (Pizza here is tasty and simple as per tradition.) The tomatoes are so good here they do not have to use canned tomatoes.

Drinks on the balcony viewing Torre delle Ore (the clock tower).
