Piove oggi. (Rain today.) Proveremo di camminare sul muro questo pomeriggio. (We will try and walk the wall this afternoon.) Did some work on the website and then we each grabbed a book. Lazy morning, but we both enjoyed the time to read. There are books here in the apartment, some of which we have left. We have reread a few of them!!!! Dow's favorite among them is Love, Anthony by Lisa Genova – even though she knew the ending, she cried again…
Abbiamo camminato sulle mura nel pomeriggio. (We walked the wall in the afternoon.) A little wet but cool and easy walking.
Did some shopping and dodged rain drops. Dow bought a bracelet and looked at scarves.
Nella sera siamo andati all'Osteria Da Pasquale per la cena. (In the evening we went to Osteria Da Pasquale for dinner.) I know we have been here before but it is so good. We made reservation via email at the beginning of August so we could get in. Pasquale told us to do that last year. He is right. This place is sold out every night. Complementary prosecco first and then a glass of white wine. Per antipasto Dow ha preso Insalata di polpo e seppie con verdure. (For antipasto Dow had the warm octopus and cuttlefish with vegetables.) Ho preso capesante grigliate su un letto di pomodori concasse, cipolle rosse caramellate e menta. (Ocean scallops on a bed of tomatoes concasse with caramelized onions and mint.) Secondo Dow ha preso coniglio disossato farcito con pancetta e provola affumicata, erbe aromatiche, purè con zafferano. (Second Dow had Boneless rabbit alla pasquale.) Secondo ho preso filetto di vitella in crosta di pistacchio di bronte e purè di patate, zafferano, cipolle rossa caramellata. (Second I had veal filled on a crust of pistacchio di bronte caramelized onions and mashed saffron potatoes.)
Since we have been coming here since 2013. Pasquale has changed waiters and chefs but it has been consistant . Whatever he does works and works very well. So many people turned away every night. We have reservation for Monday and already our mouths are watering,
